The Latin American Society of Nephrology and Hypertension (SLANH) and the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) is pleased to announce the launch of ISN-SLANH Scholarship for training its members in programs of Nephrology in Latin American Countries.

In recent years, the Scholarship Program of the ISN has expanded its opportunities for nephrologists from developing countries are trained in areas of excellence within their own region (with similar language and culture), not necessarily in North America, Europe and Australasia . Latin America is a region ideal for expansion of this program, because it has several training centers of recognized quality.

These training grants were developed in conjunction with the SLANH, and in addition to those regularly offered by ISN. The main purpose of the SLANH is to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease in the region, thus contributing to the advancement of education of specialists in nephrology and related areas. The SLANH is committed to working collaboratively with other medical organizations, and in particular with the ISN (to which it is affiliated), for the advancement of nephrology in Latin America.

Application Requirements:

- Being in training in a program of Nephrology in Latin America and I apply to stay in
other Latin American center recognized for its high quality.

- Be under 40 years of age.

- Being an active member of the SLANH, effective date of membership.

- Comply with all standard requirements for training grants ISN here

- We welcome applications from those wishing to receive training in clinical nephrology, training
in educational or training methods in research. If requested research training, the point
most important consideration is that such training is appropriate to return to their institution and
country of origin, the applicant is able to contribute to the growth of nephrology in their midst, it is preferable
the focus of the research is clinical or epidemiological research rather than basic.

- After completing the training and return to their country of origin, the candidate must submit a report
training to the ISN.

Amount and Duration of scholarship: USD 20,000.00 (twenty thousand U.S. dollars) for one year. Each Company will provide half the amount. Extensions of the training period could be possible following standard procedures ISN Fellowship application. In any given year there can be only 1 selected for the scholarship ISN-SLANH (12 months), preference is given to requests with that period.

Date of application: There are two deadlines each year on December 15 and 15 June.

Applications must be submitted to the Training Grants Program ISN using standard documents, including a complete application form, description of objectives and training plans, evidence of support from host and home guardian, and evidence of commitment employment in the home institution once the applicant returns.

Applications Training Scholarship ISN-SLANH be evaluated on a competitive basis by the Scholarship Committee of the ISN in accordance with the SLANH.
