Vision:

Achieving excellence in teaching and research in nephrology in Latin America.


Mission:

The Education Committee of the Latin American Society of Nephrology and Hypertension aims to:
a) Promote the teaching of nephrology at the undergraduate
b) To achieve academic excellence in graduate programs in Latin America.
c) Update the progress made in the field.
d) To promote clinical and basic research in the region


Activities.

To achieve its objectives will develop a series of actions, among which are:

1. Promote the inclusion of the teaching of nephrology and especially chronic renal disease in the curricula of medical schools in the region.

2. Standardize the curriculum of the teaching of nephrology in the graduate programs of the specialty, with emphasis on acquiring the skills to develop a quality research activity. Negotiate with industry awards to support research.

3. Providing access to electronic bibliographic information networks.

4. Implement distance education programs to teach and update in nephrology, research design, writing of biostatistics and medical writing, both for and non-nephrologist nephrologist.

4. Refresher training continues in collaboration with member societies and organizations.

5. Provide scholarships to young nephrologists and / or training, to attend and participate in the congresses of the Society, as well as international congresses of the specialty.

6. Provide scholarships for the study of nephrology in graduate programs of excellence in the region, those individuals whose country of residence are yet to graduate specialty and short stay fellowships for training resources in a specific area of ​​nephrology.

8. Setting the program Professor Guest, to teach skills and knowledge in a specific area of ​​nephrology in places where there is an expert in the area.

7. Promote and support the establishment of graduate programs in nephrology in Latin America, especially in those countries, provinces and states where they exist.

8. Maintain a directory of graduate schools in nephrology and their managers.

9. Keep a list of reviewers and translators of medical writing, to facilitate the publication of research papers in journals of a good standard.
