Objectives: To lean toward a better understanding of acute kidney injury,
particularly their epidemiologic profile in Latin America.

Mission: Build a network of researchers and units to advance the knowledge of the acute kidney injury (ARI) in Latin America (epidemiology, diagnosis, prevention and treatment) and to determine the human resources and infrastructure available in the region .

Vision: To generate changes to improve outcomes of patients with ARF: effective prevention strategies (education and training of human resources in the first and second level of care, identifying patients at risk for ARF), as well as a proper organization human resource and specialty materials


Relevant actions: the Committee held seven Latin American Congress of IRA
together with the local Societies of Nephrology (Argentina, Brazil,
Chile, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay).
In addition, educational activities is projecting through the portal SLANH and
a program of scholarships and internships short focal points in the region.
The Committee also participates in the Disaster Task Force of the ISN to
through the Task Force on Latin America
